- Right decision
- He should have went to prison
16-year-old Ethan Couch got behind the wheel with a blood alcohol content of 0.24, three times the legal limit, and killed four innocent people when he crashed his truck.
However, instead of going to prison for the horrible crime, the judge working the case decided to give the teen 10 years probation.
The defense team argued that Couch suffered from, "Affluenza." They argued that his family thought wealth bought privilege. They claimed that he was never punished for his actions, so he didn't understand the consequences.
As silly as that excuse sounds, the judge apparently believed it. So, now the teen gets to go some fancy rehabilitation facility in California that his father is paying for. It will cost him $450,000.
What do you think? Was it the right decision?
